Dysport is here! Finally, the much anticipated competitor to Botox is here. Dysport, abobotulinum toxin, received FDA approval in April and became available in our office last month. Dysport has the same mechanism of action as Botox, but is formulated differently. Used cosmetically for 18 years in 23 other countries, Dysport is not a new product, only new to the United States. Dosing for Dysport is different than Botox and cannot be compared, but administration is the same. Before FDA approval, Dysport was studied in 3,000 patients and found to be safe and effective. Sculptra,

Scars
- whether they're caused by accidents or by surgery - are unpredictable.
The way a scar develops depends as much on how your body heals as
it does on the original injury or on the surgeon's skills.
Many
variables can affect the severity of scarring, including the size
and depth of the wound, the blood supply to the area, the thickness
and color of your skin, and the direction of the scar. How much the
appearance of a scar bothers you is, of course, a personal matter.
While
no scar can be removed completely, plastic surgeons can often improve
the appearance of a scar, making it less obvious through the injection
or application of certain steroid medications or through surgical
procedures known as scar revisions.

Barnaclectomy

Dr. Funcik will mark all the sun spots, skin tags and lesions on your face and remove them with a flick of his wrist. First we inject the areas with local anesthesia then he uses a machine called the Ellman to cauterize the sundamage while removing it. Lastly, we apply vaseline to each spot and you continue to use vaseline for a week after the treatment until all areas are pink and ready for makeup. The best part is they are gone! No more multiple treatments with the laser. You need to protect these areas very carefully from sun exposure post treatment by using sunscreen and covering up.
