The Parisian Peel® Microdermabrasion is a system that gently exfoliates your skin’s dermal layer and removes the rough outermost layer of cells to reveal the softer, smoother skin beneath it. It is not a laser, chemical or surgical procedure. Instead, it is a non-invasive alternative to chemicals and surgery. The Parisian peel process is entirely pain-free, and it leaves you with a glowing and fresher skin.
The Parisian Peel® Microdermabrasion has been used with a lot of success since 1992 for treating superficial skin damage produced by injury, exposure to the sun and aging. This system is suitable for treating:
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Superficial pigmentation or age spots
- Rejuvenation or general exfoliation
- Acne scars
- Oily or enlarged pores
- Whiteheads and blackheads
- Post-traumatic pigmentation
- Adjunctive to cosmetic surgery
- Blending post-lasered skin
The Best Candidates for Parisian Peel® Treatment
A good candidate for the Parisian Peel® treatment is someone who is in good health, has a good skin tone, and understands the procedure, its benefits and the risks involved.
The Parisian Peel® Procedure
Before the treatment begins, your skin is prepared by applying a unique Parisian Peel® antioxidant gel, and then a stream of crystals using mild suction is directed to specific areas on your skin. These tiny crystals can be made from different compounds such as aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide, sodium chloride (common salt) or sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). These ultrafine crystals are discarded every time treatment is complete and the Microderm vacuum machine removes the crystals together with the exfoliated skin.
The gentle abrasive effect of these crystals together with a suction force produced by a handheld device are combined to scrape off the dead outer layer, revealing a newer, fresher skin below it.
A typical Parisian Peel® treatment lasts about 15 and 20 minutes. It is followed by a hydrating masque and topical vitamin C treatment that helps nourish and protect your skin. Your skin specialist may recommend peel-enhancing skin care between office visits.
A microdermabrasion treatment can be done as often as every week or up to eight weeks depending on the desired results and your skin’s tolerance. Most people prefer to start with three weekly sessions, and then revert to a monthly treatment regimen. Our medical team will work with you to determine the most effective treatment plan for your individual needs.
